Social responsibility and ethical trading are high on our agenda. We always look to ensure fair working practices across all of our suppliers, as well as reducing our carbon footprint.
Price & Buckland in India
One of the things that separates Price and Buckland from the rest, is that we actually manufacture most of the garments ourselves in our own factory in India. This gives us complete control and visibility of everything from working conditions to garment quality.
We started manufacturing in India in 2010, and we are now the proud owners of a new 50,000 square foot factory which opened in autumn 2014. Based in Noida, on the outskirts of Delhi, the facility not only secures over 250 jobs but also maintains consistently high quality standards and an efficient supply chain. This production capability greatly compliments our UK operations in Nottingham.
Put it to the test
Our fabrics are tested by Bureau Vertias, the world leader in testing, inspection and certification. Tests include making sure fabrics and colours are fade resistant, anti-pilling, durable and can withstand the rigours and stresses of fast-paced school life.
Tested by you
We regularly ask schools to put our garments to the test, by asking students to wear them for at least four weeks. That way, we can get feedback from the people that matter.
We want to make a difference
We’re always looking at ways we can make a real difference. That’s why we donate to a range of worthy charities and hold several fundraising events throughout the year.
We send our seconds to Goods for Good who help vulnerable communities all over the world.
We are a proud supporter of ThinkForward, which is a charity that operates in 15 schools in London, Nottingham and Kent in areas with some of the highest levels of intergenerational unemployment in the UK. We work with them to provide a range of activities that can help young people get ready for work placements and ensure they are employable when they leave school or further education.
